Job Description
Come work for TURN Community Services, the oldest and one of the largest non-profit providers of services for people with disabilities in Utah! Founded in 1973, TURN remains committed to exceptional care and services to people in community settings. We have full-time and part-time positions open in residential services, day training and supported employment, and family support/respite, serving and supporting persons with developmental disabilities. These programs focus on; self-reliance, community involvement, personal responsibility, and individual choice. Possible work sites include day programs, art centers, group homes, individual apartments, and other community locations.
This position coordinates a day program in Richfield. This program provides service to 11-13 individuals with varying needs. It is staffed by 5 Direct Support Professionals and 1 Coordinator. Richfield Day Training and Art Program teaches the individuals there to try various art mediums, dance, theater, music, and the arts. The program tries to also engage individuals in community activities.
Starting rate $1370.25 per pay period; salaried, full-time, exempt position
Responsibilities
Job responsibilities: The Coordinator oversees all aspects of this TURN program for people in supports, including oversight of the facility, where applicable. The Coordinator monitors, supervises, and participates in the development and implementation of Person Centered, Behavior Support, and other support plans and curriculum for each individual, in pursuit of the individualâ  s Outcomes and personal goals and well-being. The Coordinator develops and supervises staff, oversees program operations, makes certain that individual, staff, and facility records are maintained, and ensures that Federal, State and contract standards for programs and facilities are met. The Coordinator is a TURN representative in the community and other agency/professional settings. Essential functions of this position include regular attendance, adherence to authorized schedule, and sensory levels sufficient to perceive signs of aggression or physical distress in others.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
1. A minimum of one year of staff supervision in a work setting, consisting of a) interviewing & hiring
staff, b) monitoring and evaluation performance, c) staff training and development, d) staff discipline.
2. A minimum of one year of work experience with individuals with disabilities; experience with
developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors will be given preference.
3. A minimum of 18 years of age.
4. Own personal, reliable transportation.
5. Valid drivers license and current motor vehicle insurance.
6. Proficient in Therap.
Additional qualifications:
1. Knowledge of general medical conditions.
2. Demonstrated organizational, prioritizing, and time management skills.
3. Problem-solving, leadership and teamwork experience.
4. Proficiency in professional and community networking.
5. Effective verbal and written communication and the ability to produce and review typed business letters,
reports, and accurate numerical records.
6. Basic word processing; other basic computer skills.
7. Effective personal stress management.
8. Performance of administrative functions such as financial, liaison, or reporting duties.
9. Completion of required training @ TURN within 3 months of employment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
